During his student years, starting from 2004 Gedi has worked as a Junior Associate in one of Georgia’s leading law firms “Begiashvili & Company” Limited. After graduation from Tbilisi State University’s’ International Law Department in 2006, Gedi continued his career as a Head of Legal Department for International Insurance Company Irao (part of Vienna Insurance Group). By the end of 2006, Gedi has re-joined “Begiashvili & Company” Limited to work along with firm as an external legal counsel for JSC “Bank of Georgia” and its investment (JSC “Galt and Taggart Capital”) and real estate (JSC “SB Real Estate” (m2)) arms. In 2007 he moved to JSC “Bank of Georgia” as in-house Lawyer and in that capacity he continued to works as an in-house counsel for JSC “Galt and Taggart Capital” and SC “SB Real Estate” (m2).

As a part of change management process, Gedi moved to JSC “United Telecom” (largest telecommunications provider in Georgia) in 2010 on position of Deputy Head of Legal Department, being in charge of all legal activities of the company, except of litigation. In this role, he led the complex process of successful reorganization of JSC “United Telecom” into JSC “Silknet”.

Before joining JSC “Bank Republic” – Group Societe Generale in 2012 as company’s Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Gedi has been back to JSC “Bank of Georgia” during 2011-2012 as Bank’s and Subsidiary Companies Group Lawyer, mainly assigned to Group’s M&A and international funding transactions.

From 2012 to 2017 as JSC “Bank Republic’s” Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Gedi has been member of the Management Board and part of change management team, which lead the bank from five consecutive years of loss making to the highly profitable organization from 2012 to 2017 which subsequently resulted in sale of JSC “Bank Republic” – which is marked as the biggest transaction on Georgian banking market. While working for the bank, Gedi has completely redesigned legal function, making in more business oriented and led the process of reorganization of bank’s recovery department, implementing a redesigned scheme which would boost the efficiency of the recovery processes. Moreover, having deep understanding and expertise of legal framework, Gedi as business oriented executive has broadly contributed in banks day to day business management as well as in development of new products, policies and processes, which made him a significant part of banks further success.

Gedi also serves as a Deputy Chairman of Supervisory Board for JSC “Hyundai Auto Georgia”.

Shalva Demetradze joined Gelbakhiani Legal Services as a Partner in 2017. Starting from 2009 and before joining GLS, Shalva has worked as a Head of Litigation for JSC “Bank of Georgia” where, except of his ordinary managerial duties, he was managing bad debt portfolio in approximate amount of USD 300,000,000 and various employment,contractual and tax related disputes.

From 2005 to 2008 Shalva has been appointed as a judge in Tbilisi Citi Court (Chamber of Administrative and Civil Disputes). In 2002 Shalva started to serve as a Head of Litigation for JSC “Pro Credit Bank” one of the leading financial institutions of Georgia, where similarly to JSC “Bank of Georgia” he managed litigation team and ongoing disputes. Before joining JSC “Pro Credit Bank”, Shalva has worked on various positions inDidube-Chugureti District Court.

Shalva is a member of the Georgian Bar and Georgian Arbiters Association.

Medea has a vast knowledge and expertise in matters related to taxes. Her impressivework experience includes roles of Chief Accountant and Financial Manager ofMcDonald’s Georgia, Head of Financial Department of the Parliament of Georgia, TaxConsultant for Georgian Representative Office of Philip Morris Management Services,Chief Accountant of JSC Smart Retail, Chief Accountant of Redix Company, FinancialManager of Moody International Group, Chief Accountant at Law Firm Begiashvili & Co.Limited.

Furthermore, Medea has acted as Chief Accountant of BCV LLC, Mrcheveli LLC,Archstudia LLC, Representative Office of Ergil Avrasia Muhendislik ve Tuhtaat LLC,Jobs.ge LLC, Ansaldo LLC and various other companies and USAID projects.

Before joining GLS Mari has worked as an in-house lawyer for Georgian Vending GroupLLC a leading vending machine operator in Georgia. Simultaneously, Mari has been aninternal counsel for Magnum Group LLC and Profitex Bording, which are largeproducers and resellers for cement and related materials and Logistic Solutions LLCspecialising in sale and transportation of minerals and chemicals.

Mari has also served as a lawyer, for various other legal entities, including SpanishAdvesa LLC, Impexsproduction LLC, Georgian Legal Company LLC and Tbilisi CityCouncil.

Since his student years, starting from 2005 and till the beginning of 2012 Ioseb has worked at various local government bodies in Tbilisi and Khashuri municipalities and in different years held positions of a Lawyer, Head of Legal Department and Deputy Head of Municipality. His job responsibilities on these positions included drafting and analyzing bills of normative and individual administrative-legal acts, all types of contracts and other legal documentation, court representation of the Municipality Administration, management and supervision of the departments and legal entities of public law of relevant Municipalities.

From 2012 Ioseb joined legal team of JSC “Bank of Georgia” as a Lawyer. In 2016 he was promoted initially to the position of Head of Corporate and Internal Support Team and then to the position of Deputy Head of Legal Department, his job responsibilities covered all the areas of legal activities (except of litigation) of JSC “Bank of Georgia”, including drafting and analyzing of all types of legal documents, providing legal opinions, representing the bank during the negotiations with clients and counterparties.

From 2018 to 2019 Ioseb worked as a Head of Legal Support Division at Legal Department of JSC “Liberty Bank”.

Mariam joined Gelbakhiani Legal Services before her graduation from Law Department of Tbilisi State University. Before joining GLS, Mariam has acted as an in-house counsel for “Dalood” LLC a leading Georgian clothing manufacturer and retailer.   

Mariam is a participant of numerous local and international projects/trainings, including certified program in Copyright Law from Harvard University. Mariam is continuing her education to acquire master’s degree in law from Tbilisi State University.

Simultaneously with the graduation from Faculty of Law of the Tbilisi State University, Luka joined Gelbakhiani Legal Services as a Junior Associate. In the same year he applied for his master’s degree at general specialization in Caucasus School of Law.

Before joining GLS, Luka spent 1 year as an intern at Tbilisi City Court Civil Cases Panel and National Bureau of Enforcement. 

Luka has various completion certificates in trainings and projects such as Personal Data Protection in Practice, Election and Election Legislation.
